What is in the installer
- Only Rust Shield. No bundled software, toolbars, browser extensions or adware.
- The scanning engine and its definitions. Definitions update themselves in the background afterwards, so the installer does not go stale on your disk.
- No account required to install. You will need an active subscription to use protection, but the installer itself does not ask for anything.
Installing it
- Download the installer for your platform above.
- Run it and follow the on-screen steps. It will ask for administrator permission — installing a scanner that can inspect the whole disk requires it.
- Launch Rust Shield and activate it with your licence key.
- Run a first full scan. Later scans are faster because unchanged files are skipped.
